How I personally do my protein treatments using Aphogee Two-step Treatment Protein for Damaged Hair

  1. Prepping: I pour some of the ApHogee 2-step protein into a spray bottle. It is easier to apply this way.APHOGEE Serious Care & Protection Hair Care Kit
  2.

  3. Cleansing: First, I wet and detangle my hair with conditioner before shampooing.
    • I find that if my hair is matted before applying the protein treatment, it will be 10 times worse once the treatment dries in my hair.
  4.

  5. Once my hair is tangle free, I shampoo then rinse
  6.

  7. I get out of the shower, towel blot my hair and lightly finger comb.
  8.

  9. Application: With my hair detangled and hanging down, I spray the ApHogee treatment throughout my hair until it is saturated. I pay close attention to the ends.
    • I do not comb my hair with the treatment in it. It dries fast and that could mean combing hair that has already begun to harden or stick together – not good.
    • I don’t wrap a towel around my should because once the protein starts drying in my hair, it sticks to the towel and is difficult to separate from it.
    • The liquid tends to be runny so I keep a towel close by to wipe up the drippings.
  10.

  11. Drying: I immediately sit under the hooded drier for as long as it takes for the protein treatment to harden in my hair.
    • I do not agitate my hair with the hardened protein
  12.

  13. Rinsing: I get back into the shower and let the warm water run through my hair gently softening it up again. (I don’t agitate it while it is still hard)
    • Once my hair is soft again, I properly rinse the remaining protein from my hair.
    •

  14. Conditioning:  I condition in one of two ways.
    1. I either apply a lot of moisturizing deep conditioner, put on a plastic cap then sit under the dryer again for at least 15 minutes.
    2. Or I apply tons of my regular conditioner (v05 moisturizing conditioner) and put on a plastic cap for about 5 minutes and then rinse.
    • Applying the moisturizing conditioner is an important step for me, It is the only way I can get my hair back to feeling soft and manageable again after being hardened by the protein.
  15.

  16. I detangle and rinse out the conditioner in the shower
  17.

  18. Voila I am done. From there I just dry and style my hair I as normally do.
  19.

  • I don’t use the balancing moisturizer anymore because I don’t think it gets my hair that moisturized. Just a personal preference. It does smell absolutely heavenly though.
  •

  • I also don’t use the 2 minute Reconstructor by ApHogee . The hard protein treatment I do every 6 weeks is all the protein my hair needs.

Oh I guess this would hav been the ideal place to post my previous question….anyway I 2 noticed that the conditioner that comes with it isnt all that bcuz my hair still feels clammy afterwards plus its so small its done before the treatment is even halfway! I used one IC Intense moisurizing deep con….what are your thoughts on DR. Miracles Hair Products??? Normally I dont follow up these new products because somehow I think at the end of the day they are all basically the same…

Dr.Miracle…I bought the scalp and temple balm or whatever it is called a long time ago. It was okay, it just had a strong smell and tingled a little. That I could live with, but it made my hair feel greasy afterwards. I stopped using it after coming to the conclusion the the benefits did not outweigh the negatives of using the product. But that’s just for me personally, I hate products weighing down my fine hair. I still would recommend it to others tho.
I haven’t used any of the other Dr.Miracle products, so I can’t speak on them…

I love this stuff! I use it the week before I do my relaxer! Then I use the 2 minute during my relaxer process.
