A hair myth that I’ve heard while growing up is “When your hair is dirty, it grows faster.” Not sure who this works for but it doesn’t work for me.
Interesting, that is a new one I should add to the list. Who said dirt is only for growing plants? LOL
I see you’ve add my 2cents worth..LOL! Thank you.
Seems like I grew up with the majority of the very same truths(MYTHS).Here’s 2 that will probably crack you up:*Don’t go to bed with a wet head, your brain could burst…Don’t go outside with a wet head, you could catch a cold..
Good ones KC. LOL at the brains will burst one. I wonder who comes up with these old wives’ tales.
I definitely heard the catch a cold one, somehow it slipped my mind to add it. I think I will add yours to the list if you don’t mind
Thanks for the info

Not a problem…..
I use castor oil as a daily moisturizer lately and I seal with jojoba oil. Is castor oil considered a moisturizer, because my hair is supple to the touch and very well moisturized. But I also dc w/ honey, evoo, milk, and Lustersilk’s mango cholesterol. I apply it like a virgin relaxer from root to tip. What are your thoughts on my technique and castor oil.
Hi BenitaC,
A moisturizer by definition is something that causes moisture or a a condition of wetness; something that makes things moist by intruducing water (moisture). While castor oil may be very good for the hair, by that definition, it is a oil and not a moisturizer. A moisturizer would be something that is more creamy (water-based) and less oily.
I like the idea of applying your DC from root to tip like a relaxer but I personally have no experience DCing with honey or milk. I love EVOO and the Lustersilk sounds good. I keep my regimen as simple as possible and DC with Salon Care Cholesterol Cream Conditioner or Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol Conditioning Treatment. I try not to mix things because I want to know which of the products works. And it is easier to reproduce the effect when I am not worried about mixing the exact same portions of all the different ingredients all the time. But that’s me – always trying to simplify things.
Hope that helps,
-Zan
